Mitsubishi Lancer Specifications is Confusing the Middle East Market

If you own a new Mitsubishi Lancer or planning to get one, then you must be confused like me because this car has a lot of Specifications that probably will get you lost, and make it so hard to decide which Mitsubishi Lancer you really want to have and meet your requirements.

In this case, we are talking about buying a car in Egypt, So.. if you look into the car market in Egypt, and check car offers, you will find that you can buy different cars from different countries in the Middle East. The Mitsubishi Lancer Market in Egypt -for example- will offer you cars from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan and of course the only car that has a Valid Guarantee for 100.000 Kilometers or 3 years is the Lancer made in Egypt, so the other cars that been exported from the 3 other countries will not have a Car Guarantee, means you are driving by your own.

Since yesterday and I am searching for a specific car, a friend asked me for help to find a Lancer 2009 with a Special Specifications, the most exited thing that people prefer to buy cars that comes from the gulf is the Multi-point injection fuel system that doesn’t exist in Jordanian Lancers or Egyptian ones.

OK, so lets check the Lancer with Multi-point injection fuel system, I visited around 3 car suppliers in Cairo where I meet a very nice people like Magid Amir the Auto Samir Rayyan Sales Manager who told me that this Multi-point injection fuel system is no longer exist in the Lancer 2009 that been exported from the gulf area, and this disappointed me because I want to buy this car for my friend as he don’t care about Guarantee, he just need a strong car.

This is not good but.. let’s hear the other opinions. The 2 other sales guys from the other 2 places told me that they has it and they are sure it has the Multi-point injection fuel system, and this made me so confused because who should I believe?! Who should I trust?! In Car Market you really shouldn’t trust anyone these days!! If you know any information about the Lancer Multi-point injection fuel system I will appreciate if you drop me a comment and tell me about it.

Been thinking about it, and trying to find out more about the Lancer World, I realized it’s not easy to find the truth on the internet by search engine results, this car have 100s of confusing Specifications!

I have just joined the VW Golf Mk2 Owners’ Club, I was looking around the website and the forum, what I like about this forum that it’s an active one, and it’s specially made for Golf MKII lovers. Oh .. I forgot to tell you that I am a golf lover my self, and I like cars in general.

The website and the community gives you the option to discuss anything related to the Golf MKII, and have a photo gallery uploaded for your car to show it’s beauty, also there is some traders you might be interesting to join them, you’re your car or buy one you like.

Community members are so friendly, since I started my first welcome post in the forum , and during time I spend to write this post, I got 2 welcome replies so far.

What 6000 People are doing in the Car Market?

Thousands of people go to the used car market in Nasr City – Cairo Egypt, with thousands of cars to show and wait to meet their new owners.
It’s amazing thing that all those people meet all together in one place every week to sale and buy used cars, but are they really want to buy and sale? Because this is how it seem to be, and this is how should it be in a car market!

What people are doing in car market?

I can say they are not doing anything useful these days, just wasting each other’s time, because no body is buying and that mean no body is sealing his car also!

I don’t really remember how many weeks I had to go to the car market to offer my car for sale, I got confused now because I really don’t know how much to ask, so whenever someone ask how much price I would like to have for my car, I say .. well.. you better ask my car because I really don’t know!

I went down from 37.000 EL to 33.000 EL but with no use, buyers offer only 30.000 EL as a price for it as Egyptians like the close amounts, and they take out the change. They also discuss lots about how much they will spend on this car and how they will treat it which is not my biz in fact.

I am offering a standard release of the Golf II, it doesn’t have a monster engine so it’s not for racing! It’s for someone who will use it to go and come back from work everyday safe! It’s for normal use, so I don’t give a shit what they are telling me, and I don’t have to hear that boring love story about my old car with it’s new owner!

People put in Mind what they don’t have in their Wallets!

Each day passed you will find used cars buyers are getting disparate, but it’s just make no sense! They still thinking that prices went down and still going down. Here is the middle east they say “ Capital Money is a chicken!”, they are afraid to buy now, and also they are facing the fact that prices still high some how in the used car market, only a few people would really accept any price for their shit cars for different personal reasons, but there is much more who is sticking still with a high price or let’s say the same price that was all the time in the market.

Why buyers are getting disparate?

The main reason from my opinion is that people who want to buy a used cheap car put in mind what they didn’t put in their wallets! They go to the market holding 20.000 E.L. in the hand and pretending to buy a car worth 50.000 E.L and try their luck, maybe they will meet a dumb guy in the market!

Well.. I am deeply thinking about that now, I mean .. how come if I am a respectful man –or at least this is what I think about my self- I will go to buy something “a car” and offer half price?

Car Prices Will Go Higher in 2010

I think so many people don’t understand that car prices will go higher very soon, specially the new models of 2010, just think about it by logic, the Egyptian government published in the public newspapers that the decrease process of cars importing fees will not start until 2010, and all what we hear in the market in nothing but roomers.

To be clear about that, lets say that the importing fees is at the average of 40% of any car price, and the decrease process will start by 10% of the importing fees in the first year, that means 10% of the 40%, that also means that if you wanted to buy a new brand car worth 100.000 Egyptian money, the price you will have to pay will be less by 4.000 only, and actually this thing happen everyday in the market by default, because prices sometimes go higher or less by 2.000 Egyptian bounds, so .. I can say this is nothing to put in mind while buying a new brand car.

By looking to the international car market, you will find that almost all major Autos companies has fired many employers and workers to reduce the expenses, and also reduce the number of cars production by year, so.. probably the new 2010 cars will reach the market by a higher price than everybody expect.

This lead me to say that the best time to buy a car is now! Otherwise no body will be able to pay for it at 2010.

Used Cars Market in Egypt is shutting down!

Here I am for the 5th week, every Friday I go to the car market at Cairo, hoping that thing will get better and someone will give a good price for my Volkswagen Golf II, but it seem this price crises will last for longer time!

6 months back from now, my car worth 40.000 Egyptian Money with out any headache or even discussing about price. People were stopping me all the time on the street or gas stations offering to buy my car and ask me if I would like to sale it or not, they even wanted to push me to do it by offering a dream price that doesn’t exists these days in the market, and show their sad feelings when I say NO, I don’t want to sale it!

Can any one believe that prices of used cars in Egypt is going down by 25% , which means I will lose 10.000 Egyptian money?

Car buyers made me think that I am stupid when I didn’t accept the 35.000 last week, when I was asking for 37.000 thinking that it’s a decent price for me and for the person who will buy the car, so .. now.. there is no more offers more than 32.500 for my car!

Prices are going down and down every week, and of course this is not happening to me only but to everyone who has an old used car, lots of people will lose their money just because they wanted to sale their used cars now. The weird thing is that the new brand car market is not touched yet! So I am keeping wondering why this happened in the used car market only?!

To have a market anywhere there is 3 basic things that should exists all together, these thing are the seller, the buyer and the goods. This is what makes me think that there is no used car market in Egypt now, and I definitely can say that the market is shutting down!

Car buyers could be the lucky one these days -if they exists- But where are they? Are they on the couch dreaming of lower prices everyday so they can get better cars for less price?!

I hope this problem will finish soon, because people here are crazy, when they sale they want the highest price, and when they buy the don’t want pay anything!
