The old models are cheap cars, but the new ones are considered expensive car. Anyways, I believe that VW did a great job by creating this rabbit car.

Rather than the great handling of this stable car, hearing the noises of this engine is something that you will really love, it’s something else! and that makes me think What could happen when VW Golf GTI put a 6.0 letters W12 twin-turbo engine from a Bentley Continental?

This car was made especially roe celebrating its kind; it’s a 3.7 second dash to 100km/h and a top speed of 325km/h. I love the concept of this car and I would love to drive one!

The purposeful new stance is further emphasized by a set of 19-inch wheels styled to mimic the standard wheels fitted to the Golf GTI but, in the case of the GTI W12-650 wrapped in 295-profile tyres to aid traction.

I cannot even wait to see how the new VW Golf GTI will look at 2011!!

Volkswagen are pleased to announce some additional contributions to the Government’s car scrappage scheme. I found this news on Volkswagen official website

Here what I fond on VW official website:

If you buy a Volkswagen Golf S model you will get a total of £3,950 saving off diesel engines and £3,250 saving off petrol engines. This saving includes the £1,000 incentive from the Government. This means you can now buy a new Golf S 1.4 80PS 3dr from £10,335 in conjunction with the government scrappage scheme. (Golf SE, GT, GTI and GTD models will continue to get the standard £2,000 scrappage scheme incentive).

Volkswagen are also offering a total of £4,250 saving off all models in the Passat range, including Saloon, Estate and CC. This saving includes £1,000 incentive from the Government. This means you can now buy a new Passat Saloon from £12,190 in conjunction with the government scrappage scheme.

But what about my old car?

To be eligible for this saving your old car must be scrapped under the new Government scheme. Your old car must have been registered on or before 31st August 1999 and you must have owned the car for a minimum of 1 year. The Government and Volkswagen will then contribute £1,000 each towards the price of your new Volkswagen. The scheme will help remove older cars from our roads, replacing them with safer and more environmentally-friendly models.

Please contact your local retailer for further details of this scheme.

Government Scrappage Scheme – Full terms and conditions:

The Government Scrappage Scheme offer applies to vehicles registered to private retail customers. The scheme is available from 5th June 2009 until the Government funding expires or until 28th February 2010, whichever comes first.

The vehicle traded in must be a car or van registered on or before 31st August 1999, weighing up to 3.5 tonnes which has been registered to you continuously for 12 months before the order date of the new vehicle. You must have a UK address on the registration certificate and a current MOT test certificate and have no outstanding finance on the vehicle before the new vehicle is ordered.

The discount will be offered against new retail vehicles which are first registered in the UK on or after 5th June 2009 and declared new at first registration in the UK with no former keepers.

I have enjoyed this supper video that show how the VW Golf’s turbo acts on high speeds, you will not believe this, but I do, simply because this VW Golf, it’s just out of this world!!

The Golf Mk4 was first introduced in August, 1997, followed by a notchback version (VW Bora or, in North America, again VW Jetta) in August, 1998 and a new Golf Variant (estate) in March, 1999. There was no Mk4 derived Cabriolet, although the Mk3 Cabriolet received a facelift in late 1999 that comprised bumpers, grill and headlights similar to those of the Mark 4 models. New high-performance models included the 3.2L VR6 engined four-wheel-drive Golf R32 introduced in 2004, a 2.8 L four-wheel drive Golf VR6 4Motion version available succeeding the Mk3 VR6 which used a 2.8 L VR6 and only had front-wheel drive, as well as the famous 1.8T (turbo) 4cyl. that is shared between Audi and VW models.

As of 2008, certain variants of the Golf/Bora Mk4 are still in production in Brazil, China, and Mexico. Revised versions of the Mk4 are currently on sale in Canada marketed as the City Golf and City Jetta. The two models are VW Canada’s entry-level offerings. They received a significant freshening for the 2008 model year, including revised headlamps, taillamps, front and rear fascias, sound systems, and wheels. Both models are offered only with the 2.0 L SOHC 4-cylinder gasoline engine, rated at 115 hp. They are the only entry-level offerings with an optional 6 speed automatic. The production of Golf Mk4 for the US market ended in 2006.

The last 2 days, I was working on My Golf II blog fixing the theme as you all can see, I need some feedbacks regarding the new theme. And the content, I have an idea to write about everything related to cars, not only the MK2, what about that?

It’s clear now that this post is not about Cars! It’s about the blog itself, so I will appreciate any feedbacks when ever you come through My Golf II blog.

Should I write about Volkswagen only?

This blog was specially created for the Volkswagen Golf MK2, as I am a fan of this specific car, but I am wondering what will happen in the feature of this blog, I have some experience now with blogs, so what is the plan for this one?!

Can the MK2 bring good traffic for this blog? Do people search enough about this classic old car?! This is what I am wondering!

Should I shift it to write about all Volkswagen cars? Should I expand my blog to contain All Germany Cars? Or open it up and make it more wider?

Should I change my blog Categories?

Maybe changing categories of the blog is a good idea, but what categories should I have? suggest some categories for me!

In May, 1974 Volkswagen presented the first-generation Golf as a modern front wheel drive long-range replacement of the Beetle. Early versions included a now-sought-after ’swallowtail’ rear end and ’smoothie’ hood. Later Golf variations included the Golf GTI (introduced in June, 1976), a Diesel-powered version (from September, 1976), a notchback saloon version called Jetta (from October, 1979), the Cabriolet (from January, 1980) and a Golf-based pickup, the VW Caddy. All variants proved instantly popular with the only notable technical flaw being the poor braking in RHD models, due to the master cylinder for the brakes being placed on the left for LHD cars, as Volkswagen never intended the Golf to be sold abroad.

In North America, the Golf Mk1 was sold as the Volkswagen Rabbit. In Mexico, the Golf Mk1 was sold as the Volkswagen Caribe.

As of 2008, the Golf Mk1 is still being produced in South Africa as the Volkswagen Citi Golf.

The Golf Mk1 is also featured in the game midnight club los angeles.

Like its predecessor the Volkswagen Beetle, the Volkswagen Golf Mk1 has proved to be influential. In continuous production since 1974, the Golf was one of the first widely successful front wheel drive hatchbacks. In the USA, the Rabbit would spark another generation of VW-alike front-wheel drive American compacts, such as the Omni, Escort and Cavalier in the 1980s, just as the Beetle inspired Falcon and Corvair in 1960s and subcompact Vega and Pinto in the 1970s. The Golf’s performance also defined the hot hatch before youth started tuning their imports.

Replacing the Beetle was a vital goal for Volkswagen’s continued survival. By the early 1970s, the company had fallen into financial woe. The novelty of the Beetle had worn thin. Sales were in terminal decline. The front-engine, rear drive small cars like the Toyota Corolla were refined enough to woo customers away from Volkswagen’s noisy underpowered engines and dated styling. The Type 3 and Type 4 fastback and squareback failed to attract much interest, whilst the NSU-developed K70 was a failure.

The small Golf had to succeed in replacing the high volume Volkswagen sedan. The upmarket Dasher/Passat would be VW’s first front wheel drive car, and it was relatively well received for its lower volume market. The Golf would adopt an efficient “two-box” layout with a steep hatch rather than a formal trunk, which would be later added in the Jetta. The water-cooled engine would be mounted transversely in the front. Work on the Golf began in 1969, shortly after Kurt Lotz became head of Volkswagen.
